We are in the Higher-Tier Countryside Stewardship Scheme and look after a varied range of wildlife habitats including traditional wild flower hay meadows.

Important habitats for traditional farming.

We are proud to play our part in trying to protect and enhance important habitats for our wildlife.

Two of our fields, Dairy Ground and

The Burge, have 135 grassland species present. We don’t apply any fertiliser and leave the flowers to shed their seeds each summer.

Insects play such an important part in farming. Ladybirds help protect crops by eating up to 50 aphids in a day, or about 5000 during their lifetime.

Our wildflower meadows and the grass margins around arable fields provide a habitat and breeding ground for these essential farming friends.
